Outlook: The Black Bears continue their quest for improvement as they play their first games of the season at Alfond Arena. UMaine is in the early stages of finding playing time for its newcomers while trying to establish some chemistry and consistency. The Trojans were picked to finish sixth in the Sunbelt Conference East Division. Troy is coming off Tuesday’s 56-53 loss to NAIA member Belhaven. The Trojans have three Australians on their roster. UMaine dropped a 65-53 decision to Bryant on Saturday at Memorial Gym. In today’s 4 p.m. tournament opener, Ivy League member Brown takes on Evansville of the Missouri Valley Conference.
