Library collects coats and warm clothing for those in need

THOMASTON, Maine — The Thomaston Public Library is collecting hats, coats, mittens and other warm winter clothes for needy area residents. So far the library has collected six bags of warm coats and clothing for children and adults.

The coat drive is still going on, and coats may be dropped off whenever the library is open. Donations also will be collected before and after the Friends of the Library Friday Night Film Series. Boxes are located near the doors to the main wing of the library and outside Room 208, where the movies are screened.

The library plans to continue to collect coats through the beginning of December. For information on how to make a donation, call the library at 354-2453.
