Goode, Guaraldo cruise to victories in Brewer Turkey Trot race

BREWER — Adam Goode of Bangor turned in a mile pace of 4 minutes, 59 seconds and cruised to victory in the 30th Brewer High School Turkey Trot with a time of 14:57 over the out and back 3-mile course on Dirigo Drive Sunday.

Kristine Guaraldo clocked an 18:18 to win the women’s division.

Goode outpaced Joshua Trevino of Orono, who finished second in 15:16. He was followed by Colby College of Waterville runner Mathieu Nadeau (15:43), Erik McCarthy of Orono (15:54) and Ellsworth High School’s Dan Curts (15:56).

In the women’s race, Vanessa Holman of Fairfield finished second in 19:09 and was followed by Mount Desert Island High School cross country coach Desiree Sirois (19:26), MDI HS runner Maggie Painter (19:35) and Susan Plissey of Stockholm (20:06).

A total of 552 runners finished the race, which is a fundraiser for the Brewer HS sophomore class.

Brewer HS teacher and coach Glendon Rand was recognized before the start of the race for running his 30th consecutive Turkey Trot.

In the Kids Mile race, Eliza Broughton recorded a first-place time of 6:23.
