BUXTON, Maine — Authorities in southern Maine are continuing their search for two Bonny Eagle High School students who ran away Tuesday afternoon and have not been heard from since.

Rachel Ann Fuller and Dominique Lee Sproul are acquaintances and are believed to be on the run together, Buxton Police Chief Michael S. Grovo told the Bangor Daily News on Thursday.

Grovo said Friday morning that there are no new developments in the case, but he’s hoping that photographs that have been posted on Facebook and other media outlets statewide will aid in the search.

“We’re hoping the pictures are going to turn up something,” Grovo said.

Grovo said he believes that both girls were last seen in the South Portland area and that the York County Sheriff’s Department is assisting in the investigation.

“Our investigation up to this point has led us to believe they’re still in the area,” Grovo said.

Fuller is described as a white female with brown hair and brown eyes who is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds. She is believed to be wearing bluejeans, a hooded sweatshirt and high-top sneakers.

Sproul, also a white female, has red hair, hazel eyes, is 5 feet 6 and weighs 140 pounds. She is believed to be wearing bluejeans, a dark blue and black hooded sweatshirt and black sneakers.

A Facebook note was written by Fuller’s mother, Andrea, on Wednesday night pleading for the public’s assistance in finding her daughter, with her contact information listed.

According to the post, Andrea Fuller last heard from her daughter at 2:40 p.m. Tuesday, when the younger Fuller placed a call to her mother’s cellphone.

Grovo plans on contacting the National Service for Missing and Exploited Children and he has also reached out to law enforcement officials from other states.

He is also confident that if the girls are found safely, they will communicate with police officers.

“We’re hoping somebody sees them or hears from them,” Grovo said. “We’re getting it out so there’s more information on them across the nation.”

Anyone with information regarding the girls’ location is urged to contact the Buxton Police Department at 929-6612 or the York County Sheriff’s Office at 324-3644.
