WELLS and AUBURN, Mass. – Adrian Mitchell Bell, 82, of Auburn, Mass., formerly of Eldridge Road, Wells, died Nov. 15, 2011, at Life Care Center of Auburn after a lengthy period of declining health. Adrian was born July 16, 1929, in Caribou, a son of Sandy and Mamie (Mockler) Bell.
He was a machinist working for Norton Co., Worcester, Mass., for 30 years. On Aug. 1, 1949, Adrian married Arline Dahlgren and celebrated 60 years of marriage until her passing in September 2009. After his retirement in 1984, Arline and Adrian moved to Florida for the winter months to enjoy the warm weather, but ultimately settled year round in Wells. Adrian worked part time at the former IGA market in Wells for many years. He enjoyed his time there and the many friends he made. Adrian was a member of Norton Retiree’s Club. Adrian took great pride in raising and providing for his family. He often worked a second, and at times a third job to ensure that his family had a warm and comfortable home. Adrian’s greatest legacy was his work ethic and sense of pride, which is embodied by his three children.
Adrian is survived by his sons, Mitchell Bell and his wife, Donna, of Sturbridge, Mass., and Mark Bell and his wife, Charlene, of Redmond, Wash.; his daughter, Trudy A. Bell of Clearwater, Fla.; two grandsons, Keith Cappoli and his wife, Jen, and Matthew Bell; three great-grandchildren, Caylie Bell, Domenic Cappoli and Gianna Cappoli; his sister, Connie Murphy of Oxford; many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 21, at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 111 Chapel Road, Wells, with Father Tom Murphy of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Mary’s Church. Should friends desire, memorial donations may be made to Maine Parkinson Society, 359 Perry Road, Bangor, ME 04401. Arrangements are in care of Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St., Kennebunk.
