Molly Carl (University of Southern Maine junior) women’s cross country runner, qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships with an 11th-place finish at the NCAA regional meet, time of 21 minutes, 42.15 seconds on a 6K course, was the first Little East finisher.

Troy Russell (University of Maine junior), linebacker on football team, defensive player of week, scored from the Maine 40 after recovering a fumble late in the third quarter, forced a fumble late in the game that was recovered in the end zone by teammate Michael Cole for a touchdown in Maine’s 32-21 comeback win over Massachusetts.
