BANGOR – The Rev. Robert T. Carlson, 68, died unexpectedly Nov. 13, 2011. He was born July 10, 1943, in Somerville, Mass., son of Albert Gordon and Gertrude Agnes (Marvin) Carlson Sr.
The Rev. Bob was married to Elaine for 43 years. They had one son, three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The Air Force veteran served as senior pastor of East Orrington Congregational Church for 25 years.
Surviving are his wife, V. Elaine Carlson of Bangor; one son, Jerri P. Barnett of Dover-Foxcroft; three grandchildren, Maggie, Jason and Joe; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Albert G. Carlson Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Newburyport, Mass.; three nieces, Robin Carlson and her husband, David Ouellette, Kristen MacDonald and her husband, Brian, and Cheryl Iodice and her husband, Joseph; one great-nephew and three great-nieces.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, at Bangor Auditorium, Buck Street entrance, with the Rev. Carl Schreiber, pastor of East Orrington Congregational Church, officiating. A reception will be after at Bangor Civic Center. Those who wish to remember the Rev.
