MARGUERITE GRANT PERKINS

PUNTA GORDA, Fla., and PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. – Marguerite Grant Perkins, 87, died Nov. 9, 2011, after an illness. Marguerite was born May 7, 1924, in Winterport, the second of four children to the late John and Gertrude (Jenkins) Grant longtime residents of Searsport.

She was a resident of Punta Gorda, Fla., and Port Charlotte, Fla., for the past 20 years, where she is survived by her loving partner and caregiver, Harold Lampman. She was predeceased by her former husband, Claude W. Perkins, in 1985, at their home of 35 years in Westbrook, Conn., where they were both employed by the public school system; and by her oldest son, Rudy Perkins, in 2009. The loving mother and grandmother of seven children, 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, she is survived by three sons, Jerry Perkins and wife, Diane, of Punta Gorda, Fla., David Perkins and wife, Chris, of Fountain Hills, Ariz., and Stephen Perkins of Wallingford, Conn.; and three daughters, Melinda Repich and husband, Robert, of Columbia, Iowa, Celise McLaughlin and husband, John, of Pawleys Island, S.C., and Judy Gesner and husband, Dwight, of Wallingford, Conn.

At Marguerite’s wish, there will be no burial services. Charitable donations may be made in her name to American Heart Association.
