BLAIR E. DEMERCHANT

MONROE – Blair E. DeMerchant, 59, of Dahlia Farm Road, died unexpectedly Nov. 9, 2011, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Augusta. He was born Sept. 11, 1952, in Fort Fairfield, son of the late Earl G. DeMerchant and the late Constance (Ferris) DeMerchant.

Mr. DeMerchant was a 1972 graduate of Erskine Academy, South China. He served in the U.S. Air Force for a time. Prior to becoming disabled, he was employed by Harry C. Crooker & Sons, Topsham, as a heavy equipment operator for many years. Mr. DeMerchant enjoyed hunting and football, and he loved to sing and tell stories.

He was predeceased by a brother, Brian DeMerchant. Surviving are three sons, Christian DeMerchant of South China, Nicholas DeMerchant of Monroe and Blair DeMerchant Jr. of Canton, Texas; one daughter, Jamie Snow of Canton, Texas; five brothers, Brent DeMerchant of Augusta, Bruce DeMerchant of Bangor, Blake DeMerchant of Windsor, Benjamin DeMerchant and Bryce DeMerchant, both of South China; his former wife, Karen

DeMerchant of Swanville; seven grandchildren, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be no public visiting hours. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Plummer Funeral Home, 983 Ridge Road, Windsor. Condolences may be expressed at
