ARUNDEL, Maine — A one-vehicle accident led to a long list of charges for a Kennebunkport man.

Authorities were dispatched to an accident on Old Post Road at 9:30 p.m. on Nov. 10 found the vehicle empty when they arrived, according to a news release from York County Sheriff Maurice Ouellette.

A subsequent investigation led deputies to the home of Alan Bruce McGahey, 27, of Kennebunkport who told deputies that an unknown woman had stolen his vehicle, Ouellette said. Upon being questioned by deputies, the suspect became disruptive and abusive.

Police concluded McGahey had been given a ride home following the accident. He was arrested and charged with failure to give notice of an accident, operating without a license, operating under the influence and disorderly conduct.

McGahey was transported to York County Jail, where his bail was set at $860. He made his initial court appearance Monday afternoon, but the results of that appearance were unavailable Monday afternoon.
