ORONO, Maine — Five University of Maine students received summonses for underage drinking over the weekend in separate incidents.
Just before 10 p.m. on Saturday, a resident assistant at Hart Hall called police to notify them of the possibility of underage drinking in a dorm room, and when police responded, eight underage students were present in the room, according to university spokesman Joe Carr
Summoned were Kelsey Hickey, 20, and Victoria Douglas, 19, the residents of the room, for illegal possession of alcohol by a minor. The other six students were referred to the conduct office for possible violations of the student conduct code.
Also on Saturday, university police responded to an incident at Oxford Hall around 10:30 p.m.
Levi Turner, 18, a non-student from Gorham, a 17-year-old juvenile from Turner who was visiting campus and Oxford Hall resident Zach Tanguay, 18, were all summoned after an resident assistant alerted police to alcohol containers in Tanguay’s room.
