Outlook: The Black Bears play their second game in three days coming off Friday night’s 53-48 loss at Central Connecticut. The game brings UMaine’s returning players together with former head coach Cindy Blodgett, who is now an assistant for URI head coach Cathy Inglese. The Bears encounter a Rams squad that was 7-21 last season and was picked to finish 13th (out of 14) in the Atlantic 10 Conference preseason poll. Rhode Island opened its season Friday night with an 89-53 loss at Delaware. Both teams seek an early-season win to generate a bit of confidence.
