SIDNEY, Maine — A Biddeford man has been charged with driving drunk with his 4-year-old son in the car and while out on bail for a prior drunken driving accusation.
Police say 46-year-old Tony Leland was pulled over Friday night in Sidney.
Authorities said Leland had a blood-alcohol content three times higher than the legal limit. Police allegedly spotted on open bottle of liquor between the front seats and said Leland was in possession of prescription painkillers not prescribed to him.
The boy was released into the custody of relatives.
The Kennebec Journal reported Leland was charged with unlawful possession of a scheduled drug, endangering the welfare of a child, operating under the influence and violating conditions of release.
He was held on $5,000 bail at a court appearance Monday.
