PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Presque Isle police said Monday that they have some leads regarding the whereabouts of a 24-year-old local man wanted in connection with an armed robbery in the city last week.

John K. Perkins, 24, and an accomplice, 29-year-old Nicholetta A. Martin, both of Presque Isle, allegedly robbed a 26-year-old local man in the early morning hours on Nov. 3. Martin turned herself in to police later that day, but Perkins remains at large.

Investigators received a report about 1 a.m. on Nov. 3 from the man who said he had been robbed at knife point. Police said the 26-year-old victim suffered minor injuries to his hand after Martin and Perkins reportedly stole an undisclosed amount of money from him and left the scene in his vehicle.

Police recovered the vehicle a short time later, parked a short distance away. The perpetrators apparently had then fled on foot.

Police have said that once they apprehend Perkins, they will charge him with robbery, theft and criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon.
Martin was charged with those crimes after she turned herself in.

Anyone with information on Perkins’ whereabouts should call the Presque Isle Police Department at 764-4476. He is considered armed and dangerous.

Officers Kevin Reed and Larry Fickett are the lead investigators on the case. Sgt. Eric Erickson also participated in the investigation.
