Two weeks ago, Time Warner customers lost Internet for an hour.

Us customers with dish Network and Fairpoint just feel sooooo bad for those Time Worthless customers……NOT!!!!!!

Cable is the biggest rip-off out there, power outages, poor pic and overpriced service. I have Dish and have never had a problem with service. Plus I am paying about 50 bucks less for a 100 more channels.

Corporations and government are both broken nowadays.   Greed tends to make you care more about money and less about doing a good job.

get directv. And a wireless internet card from verizon. Trust me its an eyeopener.

  • kennyh

I think about their commercials about everybody in the office being just so glad they’re switching to TW. The idle employees are probably a little happier than the owners and managers now as they don’t have internet or their cell phone quality phone lines.

“Switch to Time Warner and get more free time at work!!”

how is fairpoints internet service….I have been wanting to switch to satelitte and leave time warner but there aren’t many internet services available?

  • Anonymous

How much is the wireless internet card

    problem lasted 7 min…

    Really slow news day.

Premium price for poor service. I switched to Dish and it is never out. If there is a power outage, often in our area, Fairpoint plugs in generators and Time Warner does nothing. I would make the switch quick. Oh, and when you are transferred to their “disconnect department” they will interrogate you as to your reasons and then offer you a super priced package not available until you expressed an interest in unplugging. It is a RIPOFF.

No, you ought to check out the options and you will be amazed. Open your eyes.

i lost my internet but only for a short time, about 15 minutes. problems do happen.

  • Anonymous

guess you have never used it in a hard rain storm or snow storm? hahah you will be painfully surprised.

Waa waa, another downer from the trees. The lack of integrity in business, government, unions and all other organizations is nothing new. Find something real to beef about or actually say something constructive.

you are lying to yourself. you got sucked in for a long term contract that you cant get out of right?

  • Anonymous

Yup, we’re a smug group, saving a lot of cash ($25/month) just for the internet link with more speed and $12-15/mo. on the TV end.

  • Anonymous

DON”T Ever try to unplug from Directv. It is hurtful and intimidating. They are awful to deal with.

  • Anonymous

You will love Dish and Fairpoint. Trust me. I’ve had Dish for over 11 years and Fairpoint for 6 months – both have been exceedingly reliable and helpful whenever I have had an issue.

  • Anonymous

I’m in the same position. I would drop “Time Ruthless” in a second, but I know of no other option for fast internet up here in the county. For now, they have me by the short hairs.

  • Anonymous

Lowest plan is 30 a month

  • Anonymous

Yea it usually takes a few calls to get anything done but at least you have tv when its raining.

  • Anonymous

fairpoint is just as bad, slow and unreliable.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_VANZLIHKQPPLZPYRZHKFC3MDTM Kim

Time Warner offers a super priced package when threatening to disconnect service???

  • pbmann

    Clamcove1 should follow his advice

  • pbmann

I use Fairpoint so far it has been reliable but much slower than cable was.

  • Anonymous

    Amen !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Anonymous

    Same here.

My contract has already expired so I could leave whenever I want. I also spend $4.95 a month for insurance and they will handle any problems free. DO NOT go with Valley Satellite. You will have problems with them and Dish cannot help because they are a dealer.

I had a modem problem on my computer  with Time Warner, and they sent a tech to give me a new one at no charge, on the same day. [The tech happened to be in the area.] I have Direct TV for the TV and to solve a problem a tech call is $49. I do like Direct TV though, a good picture and hardly any interruptions in service.

All because a problem isn’t new doesn’t mean it’s not legit to complain about it, well, unless you also plan to back that complaining up with action to fix it.

Eyes wide open,  been there done that as they say…dish sucks you in with low intro prices then jacks the price outrageously after the “honeymoon” .   Besides I really only watch TV when it is raining or snowing out…dish doesn’t work then.  I think I will stick with what works.  How does the dish internet and telephone work for you?

  • Anonymous

    Must be a dish salesperson

  • Anonymous

I use Fairpoint for internet and telephone and it is a lot less than TW. Never have had a reception problem in 13 years with Dish, and the pricing is much less than TW, plus they give a nice discount for paying 12 months at once. Do a written down analysis and you’ll find a great value here. By the way how was TW this weekend? Fairpoint worked every day. Read the article, TW has reliability problems galore.

  • Anonymous

I have found Fairpoint much faster the TW, interesting.

  • Anonymous

They never seem to reimburse me for the multiple hours each month the service is slow, interrupted or completely unavailable. What a load of bull spit.

This was actually a global internet outage and included any companies running BGP Juniper routers.

Including TATA Communications, Level3, Verizon Wireless, Clearwire, etc.

    See Juniper’s security release PSN-2011-08-327

We had Verizon for internet no problems .Fairpoint came along price more then doubled and service was next to none. Had  dish for years good selection of channels but very high in price and almost every time it snowed or heavy rain or even heavy clouds we lost the picture . Have had TWC for about a year and a half has only been off twice . Found TWC customer service excellent.

uhh I hate people that spread misinformation .. ‘wireless internet card from verizon’ .. yah I have one. .a MiFI 2200 supports 5 wifi devices… provides internet.. When on 3g. I normally see download speeds of around 600 / 1800 Kbps … upload is always right around  800 Kbps. … My primary home connection is TW Road Runner which I see download speeds of 16000 Kbps to 24000 Kbps and upload always comes no less then 950 Kbps ..  . My verizon MiFI is  (LIMITED) to 5gb of Data  for $59.99 plus tax a month… my Time Warner Road Runner Turbo unlimited internet service is $29.99 a month..  .. If I go over 5gb of data on my verizon data package it is $10 per gigabyte of data. that adds up..  1 HD movie streamed uses 4.5 gig of data.. just a FYI

I have dish and in the beginning only payed $39.95 .. now I pay $62 a month for 200 channels, HD and locals. yah it goes out sometimes in heavy rain, and wet heavy snow.. but its minor

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_5UNYCGGAJUFC77EA5ZJA7M7QJU xw

Its true you can get 250 channels with dishnetwork for $44.99 a month for a year..  after the year it goes up to $69.99

I tether on my iphone and it works fine, probably not good for online gaming but where I live its actually faster than my home internet, thats great that you can get decent internet my connection dosent even work on holidays because theres too much traffic for the network to handle.
I forgot about the data limit though I switched from a blackberry before my contract ran out and my unlimited data was grandfathered.
If we lived in the civilized world we could have 4g and be done with it.

  • kennyh

But every other week??? Come on… How can anyone consider running their business internet with these guys? Foolishness..

  • Anonymous

some of you always complain…what’s up with that anyway!
I’ve had both Fairpoint and TW for internet and phone. I choose to stick with TW simply because you cannot beat the internet speed. I need fast, and you can’t get faster in Maine. And I have tried them all.
As for cable, I detest dish- had it- never would go back, so I stick with TW – in the winter. In the other seasons I actually get outside and get fresh air.

  • Anonymous

I never had any real issues with Fairpoint’s internet but it is painfully slow
