BREWER – Doris C. Davis, 87, wife of the late Philip T. Davis, died Nov. 3, 2011, at a Brewer health care center. She was born Aug. 26, 1924, in Lincoln, R.I., the daughter of Benjamin E. and Gladys (Wescott) Chase.

Doris grew up in Rhode Island, graduated from Pawtucket High School in Rhode Island and Nasson College, Springvale. She worked as a dietician in her early years and was a devoted homemaker for most of her life. In her later years Doris was a member of Columbia Street Baptist Church when she resided in Bangor and volunteered at Eastern Maine Medical Center. She attended First Baptist Church, Dexter, when she lived in St. Albans.

Surviving are two children, Thomas Davis of St. Albans and Ellen Jaarsma and her husband, Charles, of Dexter. In addition to her husband and parents, Doris was predeceased by a brother, Ralph Chase; and a sister, Phyllis Landick.

A service honoring Doris’ life will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 7, at Columbia Street Baptist Church, Bangor, with the Rev. Scott McPhedran, pastor, presiding. Burial will be in New Hampshire.
