Maine man hits boy crossing the street

SOMERSWORTH, N.H. — Police say a 14-year-old boy was seriously hurt when he was struck by a pickup truck while crossing a street in Somersworth.

Police said the boy was crossing Main Street at River Street about 6:30 a.m. Thursday. He was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital, where his condition was not released.

Police told WMUR-TV the driver, identified as 32-year-old Scott Richard of Berwick, Maine, appeared distraught. He has been not been charged with anything.
