PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Police are seeking the public’s help in finding a man sought in connection with an early morning armed robbery in the city.
Police began looking for the man and an alleged female accomplice shortly after investigators received a report about 1 a.m. from a 26-year-old local man who said he had been robbed at knife point.
The search narrowed shortly after 4 p.m. Thursday when the female suspect, 29-year-old Nicholetta A. Martin of Presque Isle, turned herself in to police.
Police said the 26-year-old victim suffered minor injuries to his hand after Martin and John K. Perkins, 24, of Presque Isle, robbed him.
The suspects reportedly stole an undisclosed amount of money from the victim and left the scene in his vehicle. Police recovered the vehicle a short time later, parked a short distance away. The perpetrators apparently had then fled on foot.
Police said that once apprehended, Perkins would be charged with robbery, theft and criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon. Martin was charged with those crimes after she turned herself in.
Anyone with information on Perkins should call the Presque Isle Police Department at 764-4476. He is considered to be armed and dangerous.
Officers Kevin Reed and Larry Fickett are the lead investigators on the case. Sgt. Eric Erickson also participated in the investigation.
