Three men accused of holding elderly couple at gunpoint on Halloween

The Associated Press

FARMINGTON, Maine — Police say three men are facing multiple charges stemming from a Halloween night home invasion and robbery in Farmington.

The Morning Sentinel of Waterville says three masked men held a couple at gunpoint inside their home, then forced the husband to drive two of them to an ATM and withdraw hundreds of dollars while the others stayed with his wife. The victims, who are in their 60s, opened the door to the robbers, thinking they were trick-or-treaters.

Kevin Crandall, 27, of Wilton, Marcus Thompson, 26, of Farmington and Michael Kidd Jr., 20, of Chesterville are charged with robbery, kidnapping and criminal threatening.

They also face multiple charges of burglary and theft stemming from a string of break-ins earlier in the day near the home of the victims.
