LEWISTON, Maine — Police released details Monday about a Saturday shooting that sent a Massachusetts man to the hospital.
Kenneth Sales, 21, of Roxbury, Mass., suffered a gunshot wound to his abdomen that was not life-threatening at 8:42 p.m. Saturday on the street in front of 81 Bartlett St., according to Lt. Mark Cornelio.
Police said Sales was shot at three times. His assailant is at large. Police have no suspects, Cornelio said.
Sales appeared to be the primary target in the shooting as he walked along the street, police said.
He was taken to Central Maine Medical Center for treatment. A spokeswoman could neither confirm nor deny Sales was a patient at the hospital Monday.
The incident remains under investigation, Cornelio said.
