LINNEUS, Maine — A 25-year-old Houlton woman who was injured during a car crash on Friday evening was charged with driving drunk after she was released from a local hospital.

State police Sgt. Brian Harris said on Sunday evening the crash that led to operating under the influence charges against Ashley Quint took place on the Bangor Road.

According to Harris, Quint was southbound in her 1997 Chevy pickup when she stopped in the roadway to turn around.

Her vehicle was partially blocking the road, according to Harris.

While she was trying to turn, 17-year-old Megan Fitzpatrick of Hodgdon also was southbound in her 2001 Buick.

Fitzpatrick saw the vehicle and attempted to brake and avoid Quint but could not. The teen struck Quint’s vehicle and then went off the road.

Quint complained of pain to her head and arm and was taken by Houlton Ambulance to Houlton Regional Hospital and later released. She was then arrested and charged with operating under the influence.

Fitzpatrick was not injured. Each driver was wearing a seat belt.

Both vehicles were destroyed in the crash.

Trooper Jill Monahan investigated the crash with assistance from Trooper Carman Lilley.
