ROCKPORT, Maine — The Center for Maine Contemporary Art will present a free, drop-in workshop for children and families in its new ArtLab studio at CMCA, 162 Russell Ave., 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5. ArtLab instructor Marcie Jan Bronstein will guide children and their families in making a set of handmade stamps and gift cards.

“This is an opportunity to work creatively with your children to design and create your own stamps, using very simple techniques,” said Bronstein. “We’ve had some wonderful classes and workshops for children and adults since we opened the ArtLab this past summer, and we’d like to welcome the community in to an art-filled afternoon in our bright and inviting new space. Handmade cards are a great gift. Just in time for the holidays.”

All ages are welcome. No reservations are required, and all materials will be provided. CMCA will present a second family ArtLab workshop 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3.

ArtLab is made possible in part by support from Camden National Bank and individual donors. CMCA is also grateful to its major media sponsors, Maine Home + Design and Maine magazines.
