Help with Medicare prescription drug plan choices

BELFAST — If you are like most people, the prospect of trying to figure out which Medicare prescription drug plan is the right one for you is overwhelming. There are more than 30 plans available for 2012, and they all cover different medications, at different dosages and varying prices.

Every year there seem to be changes to many plans — from increased monthly premiums and cost of medications, to the elimination of some covered drugs or even entire plans. Spectrum Generations encourages people to do the research to make sure they will be enrolled in the plan that will work the best for them next year and maybe even save money in the process.

This year the annual Enrollment Period is earlier than in the past and runs through Wednesday, Dec. 7.

Spectrum Generations Waldo Community Center, 18 Merriam Road, is scheduling appointments for Wednesday, Nov. 9 and 30. For more information, or to schedule an appointment, call at 338-1190.
