ROCKLAND — Earlier this year, more than 500 people helped Big Brothers Big Sisters of Midcoast Maine receive a $15,000 cash award from Opinions 4 Good, an online market research community that partners with nonprofits.

Through a special Cash Award Challenge, nonprofits that achieved a minimum of 500 supporters who registered online by June 30 received the cash award. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Midcoast Maine was one of only 12 organizations across the United States that received the award.

As a thank-you to those who supported the agency, it held a raffle drawing for an iPad. The winner was Michele Sewell of Warren who works for Edward Jones Investments in Rockport.

“I was glad to support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Midcoast Maine,” said Sewell. “Their organization provides one-to-one mentoring for children who need positive role models. I never expected to win the iPad, but I love it.”
