EAST MILLINOCKET – Robert Charles Thomas, 66, passed away Oct. 26, 2011, at his residence. He was born Aug. 11, 1945, to Adna M. and Lillian (Davis) Thomas.
He graduated from Brownville Junction High School and Farmington State College, and was a member of the National Honor Society. He taught school in East Millinocket and sold life insurance. He worked maintenance more recently at McDonald’s. He was a simple man who wanted to bring glory to God. He said he was blessed with wonderful relatives, friends and co-workers. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved his family dearly and would do anything for them. His grandchildren were especially dear to him. Bob enjoyed people and could strike up a conversation with anyone, anytime, anywhere. He will be greatly missed by all.
Bob is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lois (Meier) Thomas of East Millinocket; daughter, Amanda (Thomas) Howell and grandchildren, Ashlynn and Brady, of Bangor; brother, Richard Thomas of Williamsburg; sister, Carolyn Connelly and husband, Edwin, of Waynesburg, Pa.; and in-laws, William and Colleen Meier of Yarmouth, Linda Karnes of Scarborough, Steve and Darlene Linskey of Falmouth, Clifford and Barbara Meier of Barnstead, N.H., Beth Meier and husband, Jacobus, and Martin and Kristy Meier of Lisbon Falls.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at Calvary Temple Assembly of God, East Millinocket, with Pastor Herschel Hafford and Pastor Reginald Adams officiating.
