Isaac H. Carson has graduated from Army Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. Carson is the son of Tonya Carson, Elm Street. He is a 2011 graduate of Bangor High School.
Army National Guard Pfc. Tatjana G. Francis-Mezger has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. She is a 2008 graduate of Searsport District High School and the daughter of Elvira Mezger of Searsport.
Army National Guard Pvt. Joel Thomas graduated from basic combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. A 1998 graduate of Mount View High School in Thorndike, Thomas is the son of Robert Thomas of Monroe.
She is the daughter of Elvira Mezger of Seekins Road, Searsport. Francis-Mezger graduated in 2008 from Searsport District High School.
Air Force Airman Robert T. Farrell graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
He is the son of Tim Farrell of E. Eagle Court, Gilbert, Ariz., and grandson of Robert Brownell of Rob Clark St., Winterport. Farrell graduated in 2005 from Mesquite High School, Gilbert.
Colby Small (left), 19, and Kyle O’Connell, 21, both of Brewer, graduated from Basic Training in May and Tech School on Aug. 15 at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. Their career is Security Forces in the 101st Air Refueling Wing for Maine Air National Guard in Bangor. Small graduated from Brewer High School in 2010 and O’Connell graduated from Brewer High School in 2009.

HAMPDEN — First Lt. Michael Peverada of Hampden recently was promoted to the rank of captain in the artillery branch of the United States Army. He is a graduate of Norwich University, Northfield, Vt., where he was commissioned a second lieutenant.
Peverada completed his artillery training at Fort Sill, Okla., and served as a rocket battalion commander in Korea. He is executive officer in the First Battalion 3077th Field Artillery Regiment at Fort Lewis, Wash.
