PRESQUE ISLE – Milton McRae, 95, entered eternal rest and went to be with his Lord Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011. Milton was born Feb. 18, 1916, in Presque Isle, only child and son of William and Laura McRae.

He went to Presque Isle schools and graduated from high school in1935. He went to trade school to be an electrician, but in 1956, went to work for Northeast Airlines which was eventually bought by Delta. He married the love of his life who he always called "Velva P" (Fenton), June 6, 1958. They were together 53 years. Milton loved to talk and greet people wherever he went, and kept his great sense of humor to the end. He was a lifelong member of Grant Memorial United Methodist Church, Presque Isle. He loved his doctor, Dr. David Jones. He thought of him as a true personal friend and considered him to be the best doctor in the whole wide world.

He was very fond of the relatives of his beloved "Velva P," including Mrs. Charlene Stevens and her daughter, Rebecca, of Florida, Florence Fenton of Brewer, and Robert Fenton and his wife, Barbara, of California. He loved his precious dog, Heidi, who is now in the hands of a good Christian family, Roger and Karen Folsom of Houlton. They took her as their own family pet of which we are very thankful.

There will be no calling hours and only a private ceremony. Because of his love for animals, donations may be made in Milton’s name to Central Aroostook Humane Society, Presque Isle.

"To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul, in you I trust, O my God."

– Psalm 25:1
