NORWAY – Jeanne Delia (Brodeur) Boucher, 78, peacefully passed away early Wednesday morning, Oct. 19, 2011, at Ledgeview Living Center, West Paris, with her family at her side. Jeanne was born Feb. 23, 1933, in Old Town, to Napoleon and Delia Brodeur.
She attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School, Old Town, and graduated from John Bapst High School, Bangor, in 1952. She and Norman Boucher married in 1955. They lived in Lincoln and Old Town, where they raised four children, and later moved to the Oxford Hills area to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Jeanne was devoted to the Catholic Church and a lifelong communicant at St. Joseph’s Parish, Old Town, and St. Catherine’s, Norway. Above all, she enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, sharing conversations with family and friends – in particular, on the camp porch at Pushaw Lake, and recounting life’s stories and playing games with Norman and their grandchildren.
Jeanne was predeceased by her parents; her sisters, Imelda Comeau and Theresa Brogdon; a brother, Alphonse; and three infant daughters. She is survived by her husband, Norman; and their children and grandchildren, Paula and Christopher Henderson of Concord, N.H., and their children, Jess, Katie and Jon, Carol Brown of Norway and her children, Hannah, Sarah and Max Brown, Susan and Dean Lachance of Augusta and their sons, Jacob and Zachary Lachance, and Michael Boucher and Elizabeth Patten of Freeport and their sons, Tyler and Miles Boucher. She also leaves many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends from throughout her life. She lived with grace and modesty and will be greatly missed by all. The family extends its gratitude to Androscoggin Homecare & Hospice and to the staff at Ledgeview Living Center for their extraordinarily warm and caring attention to Jeanne and her family during the final few weeks of her life, with a special thank you to Tammy and Nikki.
A Mass and reception to celebrate Jeanne’s life will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, at St. Catherine of Sienna Parish, 32 Paris St., Norway. Burial will be in Old Town at a later date.
