Bangor, Maine — Local photographers Theresa Cuccinotti, Tricia Kenney, and Tammy Michaels will host an exhibit of their work as part of The Bare Truth Project from 7 to 9pm on Thursday, October 27 at Sweetest Thing, 48 Columbia Street in Bangor.
The Bare Truth Project showcases the beauty of breast cancer survivors and their scars through the art of black and white photography.
“We are honored and excited to be part of this unique event,” said Jeni Lloyd, project manager for Champion the Cure Challenge. “It’s been great to see how these photographers have used their talents to support local cancer research.”
Champion the Cure Challenge is held every year during the third weekend of August. The event includes a one-mile Family Fun Run, 5k and 10k walk/run, 25, 50, and 100-mile bicycle rides, and a 50-mile motorcycle ride. The funds raised through the event support cancer research at Eastern Maine Medical Center’s CancerCare of Maine. Nearly 700 individuals participated in the 2011 Champion the Cure Challenge, which raised more than $226,000.
Tickets to Thursday’s The Bare Truth Project exhibit are $30 each or two for $50 and may be purchased at the door or online at www.baretruthproject.org. All proceeds benefit Champion the Cure Challenge. For more information, call Liz Martin at 973-9633.
