Five Town CSD Adult Ed adds classes

ROCKPORT, Maine — Five Town CSD’s Adult and Community Education reports that 660 people have signed up so far this semester, and many popular classes have had second sessions added. Among the new classes added is pottery for beginners and intermediates. The class is for those who have never done pottery before or who want to get back into the craft. Many pieces made in last year’s classes were the highlights of the annual Adult Ed Art Show in May. The class begins 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, and runs for 10 weeks.

A highlight this fall has been the authors and publishing series, Pathways to Publishing, which features local authors who have written in a number of genres and been published many different ways. Classes are Writing for the Young Reader with Fran Hodgkins on Thursday, Oct. 20; Writing the Official Whoopie Pie Book and Freelancing with Nancy Griffin on Thursday, Nov. 3; Writing Mysteries and More with Vicki Doudera on Thursday, Nov. 17; Writing and the Photographer with Brian Van den Brink on Thursday, Dec. 1, and The Poet, the Musician and Self-Publishing with Dave Morrison on Thursday, Dec. 15. All Pathways to Publishing classes will meet 6-7:30 p.m.
