Who should be the next Red Sox manager?

The Boston Red Sox are looking for a new manager after their late-season collapse cost them a playoff spot and cost Terry Francona his job.

Orono native Brian Butterfield, the third base coach for the Toronto Blue Jays, said he isn’t interested in pursuing the job but would listen if the Red Sox got approval from the Toronto front office to contact him about it.

So who would you like to see be the next Red Sox manager? What requirements are you looking for in a Red Sox manager?

Francona was a player’s coach. Would you rather see somebody who is more of a disciplinarian? Would you like to see somebody who is more open-minded to small ball: hit-and-runs and bunts? Very rarely did Francona do either.

Thanks for taking time to comment.
