BREWER, Maine — A 14-year-old boy was charged with throwing a rock off the Green Point Road overpass on Friday that struck a truck traveling east on Interstate 395, Brewer police Cpl. Paul Gauvin said Sunday.
The truck’s driver called police at around 5:15 p.m. to report the crime and “we were able to track down the suspects,” the corporal said.
The 14-year-old was charged with criminal mischief. He was with a 16-year-old boy, who was not charged. Because the teens are both juveniles, police did not release their names.
The 14-year-old was taken into custody after being charged and later released to a parent, Gauvin said.
The rock caused approximately $300 in damage to the truck, the corporal said. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)
