Bangor-Lewiston high school football on; Brewer-Waterville postponed

Several high school football games around the state scheduled for Friday evening have been postponed due to inclement weather.

Among those contests being pushed back to Saturday is the Pine Tree Conference Class B clash that brings 4-2 Waterville to 5-1 Brewer. That game now will be played at 7 p.m. Saturday at Doyle Field in Brewer.

Other games postponed from Friday to Saturday include Messalonskee of Oakland at Mount Ararat of Topsham, Skowhegan at Edward Little of Auburn, Oxford Hills of South Paris at Brunswick, Morse of Bath at Mt. Blue of Farmington, and Winthrop at Poland.

In addition, the opening kickoff for Friday’s LTC Class C game between Stearns and Orono has been moved up from 7 p.m. to 5 p.m. That game will be played at Orono.

One Western Maine Class C game, Old Orchard Beach at Sacopee Valley of South Hiram, was postponed Friday and rescheduled for 5 p.m. Monday.

The Class A game between Lewiston and Bangor will be played beginning at 7 p.m. Friday as scheduled, according to Bangor athletic administrator Steve Vanidestine.

In field hockey, the Eastern Maine Class B preliminary round game sending No. 9 Waterville to No. 8 Oceanside of Rockland-Thomaston has been postponed from Saturday afternoon to 4 p.m. Monday due to wet field conditions.
