SANDRA ELAINE (FICKETT) MUNSON

KENDUSKEAG and LUBEC – Sandra E. (Fickett) Munson, 69, passed away Oct. 13, 2011, at a Bangor hospital with her family by her side. Sandy was born Feb. 1, 1915, in Calais, the daughter of Julian E. and Gertrude B. (Lund) Fickett, and grew up in Lubec.

She was a member of Brewer Eagles Club and West Glenburn Community Club. Sandy loved sewing and bingo, and was a fan of the Boston Red Sox and the Patriots.

She is survived by her mother, Gertrude (Lund) Mealey of Lubec; a brother, Julian Fickett, also of Lubec; two daughters, Shana Munson and her significant other, Larry Taylor, of Kenduskeag and Rowena Elliot and her husband, Calvin, of Corinth; one son, Loring Munson Jr. and his wife, Sherry, of Lubec; 10 grandchildren, Christopher, Harriet, Tabitha, Victoria, Esther, Greg, Yolanda, Nick, Abby and Allie; and great-grandchildren, Loring, Greg Jr. and Tyson. She is also survived by the father of her children, Loring Munson Sr. Sandra was predeceased by her father; a stepfather, Carroll Mealey; and twin sons, James and Julian.

Friends may call 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 17, at Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. with the Rev. Rex Garrett officiating. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Monday at Green Lawn Cemetery, Lubec. Those who wish may send donations to Bangor Humane Society, 693 Mount Hope Ave., Bangor, ME 04401.
