FORT KENT – Albert B. Daigle, 83, died peacefully Oct. 13, 2011, at a Fort Kent health care facility. He was born Feb. 4, 1928, in Fort Kent, the son of Jean Baptiste and Laura (Oakes) Daigle.
Albert was a member of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus Council No. 352 and C.O.F., both of Fort Kent. Albert’s favorite pastime was woodworking in his shed after his retirement as a self-employed carpenter. He enjoyed bowling with his family and friends, "The Daigle Remodeling Team." He will be dearly missed by those who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Ida (Pelletier) Daigle of Fort Kent; three sons, George and his wife, Rita, of Fort Fairfield, Mike and his wife, Suzanne, of St. Francois, New Brunswick,
Bob and his wife, Susan, of Wallagrass; his daughter, Amy and her husband, Eric Nash, of Bristol, Conn., one brother, Joel and his wife, Ellie, of North Carolina; three sisters, Priscilla and her husband, Hervin Pelletier of Bangor, Joan and her husband, Lawrence Ouellette, of Fort Kent, Claudette and her husband, Jack Oakes, of Plainville, Conn.; one brother-in-law, Roy Belanger of Daigle; 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one sister, Anita Belanger.
Friends may call 8-9:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 17, until time of service at Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial with Fourth Degree Honors, will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Committal services will be in the parish cemetery.
