UM-Machias men, women record victories

BANGOR — Stefan Zalucky scored two goals and pitched in two assists as UMaine-Machias rolled by Eastern Maine Community College 4-0 in men’s soccer action Tuesday.

Tyler Pelletier and Devan Pendexter each added a goal for UM-Machias.

Lewis Luif made 6 saves on 8 shots for 11-5-1 UM-Machias. Eric Peterson made 27 saves on 32 shots for EMCC.

NMCC 9, UM-Augusta 1

At Augusta, David Rugg netted two goals and added two assists as Northern Maine Community College picked up its third win.

Kyle Murray buried two goals and pitched in an assist for NMCC. Jacob Lassonde scored two goals. Sarah Kenneson tallied a goal and contributed two assists. Matt Till finished a goal and picked up an assist. Ryan Blanchette also notched a goal.

Micah Goetch scored a goal for UM-Augusta. Aaron Dufour picked up an assist.

Alex Myers made four saves on 10 shots for 3-8-0 NMCC and Chris White made 18 saves on 33 shots for 0-8-0 UM-Augusta.

Women’s soccer

UM-Machias 5, EMCC 0

At Bangor, Kyliynn Adams scored a hat trick as UM-Machias picked up its 11th win.

Kim Pratt and Nikki Bennett each tallied goals for UM-Machias.

Rebecca Young made 2 saves on 3 shots for 11-2-1 UM-Machias. Lyndsay Allen made 23 saves on 40 shots for 0-8-0 EMCC.

Bates 9, UM-Farmington 0

At Farmington, Kara Stefanik scored twice as Bates rolled to the victory.

Abby Alexander, Jaimie Cappucci, Lauren Dobish, Sam Rose, Amanda Sirianni, Courtney Talcott and Tina Tobin also scored for the 3-4-2 Bobcats.

Annie Burns and Anabel Schmelz preserved the shutout in goal, combining for five saves.

Beth Lebel and Crystal Johnson made nine saves for the 4-7-3 University of Maine at Farmington.

Field hockey

Bates 4, Southern Maine 3

At Gorham, Riley Kundtz had two goals and an assist to lead Bates College to the win.

Michelle Brady and Bridget Meedzan also scored for the 3-7 Bobcats, while Becca Otley made six saves in goal.

Kailey Bubier scored twice and Natalie Harkins once for the 6-9 University of Southern Maine. Kayla Kennedy made 13 saves in goal for the Huskies.
