VASSALBORO — Falmouth captured the Class A title in the state high school golf team championships while York collected the Class B crown and St. Dominic Academy of Auburn won in Class C at Natanis Golf Course Monday.
Will Bucklin tied for the round’s best score with a 74 to help Falmouth finish with 312 points, edging Cheverus of Portland (331).
Rounding out the Class A field were Scarborough (336), Gorham (337), Bangor (349), Brunswick (355), Lawrence of Fairfield (367), Hampden Academy (371), Oxford Hills of South Paris (372), Brewer (373) and Kennebunk (378).
Deering’s Joe Walp also shot a 74.
In Class B, Craig DeCato’s 76 tied for the best round in that division and also helped York claim the state crown with 322 points, while Yarmouth finished second with 338.
Presque Isle finished third in Class B with 346, followed by Hermon (351), Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield (351), Lincoln Academy of Newcastle (352), Maranacook of Readfield (354), Cape Elizabeth (357), Wells (361), Foxcroft Academy (362), Caribou (375) and Winslow (382).
Maranacook’s Luke Ruffling also shot a 76.
In Class C, St. Dominic compiled 327 points to capture the state title. Fort Fairfield finished second with 355 and was followed by Houlton (368), Wiscasset (375), Deer Isle-Stonington (377), Calais (387), Old Orchard (393), Jonesport-Beals (410), Ashland (448), and Forest Hills (492).
Jordan Jones of Wiscasset posted the best Class C score with a 77.
