Johnson & Wales ties St. Joe’s in women’s soccer

STANDISH — Kayla Sypek scored off a Katherine Chambers assist with 12 minutes left in regulation, helping the Johnson & Wales Wildcats forge a 2-2 overtime tie with Saint Joseph’s College in women’s soccer play Monday.

Danielle Daigle scored on a Catherine Murch assist for 5-4-3 Saint Joseph’s, while Katherine Chambers scored on a Katlyn Gerrish assist. Jaci Lorenzen made 12 saves on 25 shots for the Monks.

Berkeley Cecchini-Bond scored off a free kick 49 seconds into the second half for 7-4-2 Johnson & Wales of Providence, R.I. Alexis Babineau made five saves on eight shots.
