UNION — Business owners are invited learn how to market their business using a combination of traditional advertising, online social media networks and email marketing at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at the Thompson Community Center in Union. The event is sponsored by the Union Area Chamber of Commerce.
Kim Palermo, production manager and inside sales person for Elm Street Printing, will discuss the importance of branding. As the owner of a graphic design and consulting business she worked on strategic marketing planning and development for a large national firms including Henkel-Loctite Corp., Heublein Corp. and Connecticut National Bank. She also has experience in planning and analyzing media buys for local and national promotions.
Shannon Kinney is founder and client success officer of Dream Local Digital in Thomaston, a digital marketing agency. Her focus will be “The changing world of online marketing and how to leverage it to grow your business.” She will answer questions about social media and will discuss email marketing and how it can work for your business. Kinney has worked with more than 100 local businesses on marketing strategies. She has more than 15 years of experience in the development of Internet products, sales and marketing strategy. She has worked on the teams developing Internet brands such as cars.com, careerbuilder.com, more than 60 online media properties for newspapers throughout the United States and Canada, and has worked with high-profile companies such as Google, Microsoft, Yahoo and many others.
A representative from Local Marketing Community Group, which specializes in working with local chamber communities, will discuss its Buy Local package.
