Outlook: Northeastern and Massachusetts tied 3-3 Friday in their opener. The Huskies lost their top four scorers off last year’s 14-15-8 team due to graduation or pro signings. They still have plenty of quality players and have been bolstered by the return of some who were sidelined by injury or played with nagging ailments last year such as speedy RW Robbie Vrolyk, who played only 11 games. Rawlings is one of the league’s top goalies and has tons of experience. Former Husky forward Jim Madigan has replaced Greg Cronin at the helm. Madigan was a scout with the Pittsburgh Penguins last year. NU will be aggressive and physical and Maine will have to handle its forecheck and try to generate transition chances.
