Maine deaths in the Afghanistan war

Since 2001, 18 soldiers with Maine connections have died in the Afghanistan war, according to a tally by the Bangor Daily News.

Master Sgt. Evander E. Andrews, 36, Solon, Oct. 10, 2001, killed in Northern Arabian Peninsula, Air Force.

Sgt. Nicholes D. Golding, 24, Addison, Feb. 13, 2004, Army.
