SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine — South Portland police are on the lookout for a man who held up a convenience store Sunday.

Police Chief Edward Googins said Tuesday an unidentified man took an undisclosed amount of cash at knifepoint from the Big Apple store on Western Avenue Sunday night.

The suspect stands about 5 feet, 9 inches tall, the chief said, and has dark, thick brows. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and his eyes were covered by a scarf, Googins said.

After the man left the store, police brought in a K-9 unit to track the suspect, but he was not found.

The robbery was captured on surveillance video. printed on September 30, 2014
