Deer Isle area customers lose power for about three hours Monday morning

DEER ISLE, Maine — An equipment failure knocked out power for about three hours Monday morning to about 1,100 customers in Deer Isle and Stonington.

The outage began at about 6 a.m. and Bangor Hydro Electric Co. crews had restored power to the 1,172 affected customers by about 9 a.m., according to a press release from the company. The release attributed the outage to equipment failure.
