YARMOUTH, Maine — A 2-acre parcel in Yarmouth may one day be home for 30 Maine senior citizens.
Yarmouth Senior Housing is expected to ask the town to donate the Mill Street parcel, at the edge of Royal River Park, for the estimated $5 million project.
The nonprofit is scheduled to discuss its plans and present concept drawings at a community meeting on Oct. 12 at the Bartlett Circle Community Building. The idea will be pitched to the Town Council on Oct. 20.
Town Manager Nat Tupper said the project’s goals coincide with the town’s comprehensive plan.
Yarmouth Housing President Margaret Downing told the Portland Press Herald the group has no other options if the council rejects the idea.
