More than 150 items will be up for bid as part of the annual Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce Online and Live Auction. Online bidding opened Sept. 19 at http://www.biddingforgood.com/PBRCCAuction. The Live Auction will be held Friday, Oct. 14.

The featured item this year at the Chamber auction will be a Fisher HT Series snowplow from Fisher Engineering and valued at $5,240. The snowplow is engineered for today’s half-ton trucks, providing all the features you expect from Fisher in a standard-duty snowplow. It features Fisher’s Minute Mount 2 On/Off system, INTENSIFIRE halogen headlamps and the original Fisher trip edge design.

Other sponsors include Gamage Antiques, Bangor Metro/Maine Ahead, The Coastal Journal, Country Inn at Camden/Rockport, The Free Press, Maine Home + Design/Maine magazine, Mainebiz, The UPS Store and VillageSoup/The Herald Gazette. $100 Cash Raffle prize donors are Bruce Gamage — Gamage Antiques, Captain Steve Hale — Captain Jack Lobster Boat Adventure, James W. Brannan, Mike Jones — Camden National Bank, Rolf Winters — Knowlton Moving & Storage Corp. and Kevin Waters — Penobscot Island Air. I am also incredibly grateful to all the businesses who have donated items for the auction: Such support really demonstrates that there is no distinction between the “business community” and the “community” in general in this neck of the woods.

The online auction bidding will run through 9 p.m. Monday, Oct.10, with about 100 items heading to a live auction on Friday, Oct. 14, at the Rockland Elks Lodge, 210 Rankin St. in Rockland. There will be live auction items, cash raffle prizes, raffle items, cash bar and a concession stand. Bruce & Becky Gamage will serve as auctioneers.

The live auction items will be clearly identified on the website and absentee bidding will be available to those who cannot attend the live event.

Anyone can participate by going to http://www.biddingforgood.com/PBRCCAuction.%A0. Items up for bid will include business services, artwork, unique experiences, travel, lodging packages, dining, recreational activities, gift baskets, train rides, boat trips, festival tickets, landscaping supplies and much, much more. Everyone is welcome to browse, shop or just drop by and sign the guest book to show support for auction. Auction site visitors also can contribute to the auction’s success by using the “Tell A Friend” button at the website.

Proceeds from the auctions will support the Chamber’s work on behalf of the economic and community vitality of our region.
