Unwanted guest arrested on warrant in Bangor

BANGOR, Maine — City police officers who were sent to Walter Street early Thursday morning to remove an unwanted guest wound up arrested him on an active warrant.

Carl Huffman, 38, of Levant, who reportedly had been drinking the night before, fell asleep at a woman’s home and would not comply with her requests that he wake up and go home, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said Thursday.

After the woman called police to remove Huffman, officers learned that he was wanted on a 2009 warrant for failure to pay fines from a drunken driving conviction, accord to the police report.

Huffman was taken to Penobscot County Jail, where he remained Thursday night, Edwards said.
