Fajita Grill reopens after federal raid

By Ryan McLaughlin, BDN Staff

WESTBROOK, Maine — The Fajita Grill, a Mexican restaurant that closed after being raided by federal agents last week, reopened on Tuesday.

The restaurant’s Facebook page said it opened at 4 p.m. Tuesday, and the establishment also was open on Wednesday.

Eleven employees of Fajita Grill and two Cancun restaurants, in Biddeford and Waterville, are being held at the Cumberland County Jail, according to the Press Herald, in the wake of separate raids last week.

Fajita Grill owner Guillermo Fuentes and his brother, Hector, owner of Cancun restaurants, were both released from jail on bail Sept. 22. They face charges of conspiracy to harbor illegal aliens and employment of illegal aliens.

Cancun in Waterville reopened Sept. 23.
