HANCOCK – A. Wayne Bryer, 76, passed away Sept. 25, 2011, in Bangor. He was born Dec. 30, 1934, in Lyman, to Arthur and Theresa (Tilton) Bryer.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and owner of Bryer’s Restaurant, Hampden. He enjoyed any children’s activities and was involved in the Hampden Children’s Day each year.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ruthann Bryer; two children, Kelly Bryer, and Kevin Bryer and his wife, Heidi; siblings, James Maddocks, Sandra Mitchell, Brenda Bennett, Donna Wilson, Sharon Cominski and Sherylle Welch; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held 1 p.m. Oct. 8 at Lakeview Cemetery, Hampden. Family and friends are invited to a gathering immediately after the service at 42 Holyoke St., Brewer. Arrangements under the care of Direct Cremation of Maine, Belfast.
