Unity College men shut out EMCC

BANGOR — Nathan Dant scored a first-half goal and Richard Lee added one in the second to lead Unity College by Eastern Maine Community College 2-0 Tuesday in men’s soccer action.

Alfred Brown added an assist for the 6-4-1 winners and Brendan Wallace made seven saves on 11 shots.

For 3-4 EMCC, Erik Peterson made 12 saves on 19 shots.

Women’s soccer

UNE 4, Southern Maine 0

At Gorham, Katie Caron scored two goals to spark the Nor’easters to victory.

Lauren Blaisdell and Sarah Richardson each scored a goal for 7-7-1 University of New England of Biddeford. Nicole Faircloth added an assist while Jess Woodworth and Sarah Papapietro combined on the shutout, but did not face any shots.

Kat Rothe made six saves on 16 shots for 2-7 Southern Maine.

Colby 2, UM-Farmington 0

At Waterville, Cami Notaro’s goal 13 minutes into the second half sent the Mules on to victory.

Marissa Simmons scored on a Maddie Tight assist for 4-2 Colby. Emily Brook made four saves on six shots.

Beth Lebel and Crystal Johnson teamed up to make 13 saves on 30 shots for 3-3-2 University of Maine-Farmington.
