AUGUSTA, Maine — Demolition is under way on a building that once housed the YMCA in the Maine capital of Augusta.

The owner of the 30,000-square-foot building received a permit to demolish the 1914 building in 2008, but delayed demolition in hopes other arrangements could be made.

The Kennebec Journal reported the contractor said the building will be gone in a week and the site cleaned up within two weeks. printed on July 25, 2017
